This policy explains how VPSStorages processes limited analytics data for security and service improvement, and outlines your rights under GDPR.

2. What data we process when you visit the site

When you visit our website, we may process limited data for security and for understanding site usage and performance. We use Matomo Analytics (self-hosted), hosted on our own infrastructure.

technical device/browser data (e.g., browser type, resolution)
approximate location (country/region) derived from IP (we do not publish your full IP)
visited pages, time spent, referrer URL (if available)
server logs (IP, timestamp, requested resource, status code) for security and diagnostics

We do not use this data for advertising targeting and we do not build marketing profiles.

3. Legal bases (GDPR Art. 6)

Analytics (Matomo): we process analytics data only with your consent – GDPR Art. 6(1)(a). You can withdraw your consent at any time via Cookie settings in the footer.
Security and abuse prevention: processing of technical logs to protect the website and infrastructure – GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests).

4. Cookies and preference management

We use a consent banner that lets you choose whether to allow analytics cookies. You can change your choice at any time via Cookie settings in the footer.

You can also delete/limit cookies via your browser settings. “Do Not Track” may limit tracking, but it does not replace consent management.

5. Data retention

Matomo analytics: up to 90 days, after which the data is automatically deleted or anonymized.
Security server logs: up to 90 days, unless required longer for investigation of incidents or abuse.

If your actual Matomo retention/log rotation differs, this section should be aligned with the real configuration.

6. Recipients, processors and transfers

We do not sell data and we do not share it with third parties for marketing. Matomo is self-hosted on our infrastructure. By default, data is not transferred outside the EU/EEA.

We apply technical and organizational measures to protect data (access control, segmentation, administrative logging, backups).
